This presentation of The Island of Dr. Moreau is brought to you by...

I am interrupting my hiatus just once because (as did most Missourians) I received my letter from the pro-death embryonic stem cell research promoters, the Missouri Coalition for Lifesaving Cures, last week, and I thought it was interesting, and perhaps useful to others, to list the organizations and individuals who are involved in peddling morally illicit research. My philosophy these last few years has been simply not to give to any medical or disease organization unless someone can confirm for me that they don't support immoral research (which means, of course, I don't give to medical or disease organizations as a rule). Those of us who care ought to be asking such questions, and ought to be sure we're not inadvertently supporting the pro-death cause. Here's the list:

Thanks. Although I don't live in Missouri, it's nice to have this reference list for those that are national.

I've long wondered about Lance "I made my own miracle happen" Armstrong. He was just recently on the cover of Sports Illustrated and had a lengthy article inside, and I can see donations flooding in as a result.

I don't trust secular charities in general. Really, I don't trust a lot of Catholic ones either, but that's another matter.

On Chris Reeve; it's the old 'appeal from pity,' 'don't you want him to get better? sniff sniff' Yeah, all we have to do is kill some kids...

How ignorant and myopic can you get?

Curmudgeon said...

O, quite ignorant, and and quite myopic!

But then, we live in an age in which ignorance and myopia are highly prized, and prominent people vie, in the public forum, to demonstrate they are the most ignorant and myopic of us all. Sadly, my ignorance and myopia pales in comparison, and I must yield the battle to them.

The condition is very rare and causes a rapid loss of vision if not treated immediately. Glaucoma is common in the general population. There is literature available and community resources such as support groups and the Lighthouse for the Blind.
