SOLD OUT!

Less than a week after a friend of mine forwarded me the announcement of Fr. Charles Curran's forthcoming appearance in Kansas City, I hear again from him and learn that the venue is full, and they're taking no more reservations for the speech by the dissident priest and discredited theologian on March 24. Too bad, so sad. I'm just glad my correspondent got a seat reserved before registrations closed. We'll wait to hear his report in a few weeks.

In the meantime, wouldn't it be cool to have a lecture by a real Catholic theologian at the same time, and very near the same place? Anyone want to set that up? Anyone?

  1. Notice what cowards all dissidents are? They know deep down their "arguments" will not stand up to right reason and honest debate. I think what it all boils down to is they have no interest in debate - they only want to vent thier spleens breaking down the Church - which ironically cannot be broken. They will ultimately lose.

  2. How nasty you are about this man.
He(CC) is not discredited [dict: Camb , Oxf]
but your language attempts to do just that.
Calling people names and writing venomously and rancorously is hardly a Christian stance.
    cf Matthew 7:3, Luke 6:41

  3. He has lost his credentials to teach Catholic theology. Works for me. And don't give me the "poor Charlie" routine. He knows what he's up to, and his dissent is an act of the will. He's doing the devil's work. He doesn't get hugs and kisses.

Of course the left defines Christianity as its want to: when the ugliness towards the right, and the pied piper about "non-core teachings" comes from the Gumbleton/Curran/Kung/Kissling/Chittister faction, it's open mindedness and all that rot; it's only the orthodox who are subject to such scolding.

Ultimately, though, the left wingers who are trying to coopt the Catholic church don't matter. Oh sure, they're a thorn in our side now and have been for 40 or 50 years or so. But the Church's life is measured in centuries, and the left will have buggered and contracepted itself out of existence by the time their regime has hit the century mark.
