Two quick things

First, Orville over at Kansas City Catholic has had a great start to his article on the contemptible little mag put out by the Catholic Key to mark the 50th anniversary of the formation Diocese of Kansas City/St. Joe. Kudos to him. I need to contribute to his effort.

Second Mr. Culbreath, my new friend in northern California, has suggested that someone found a new political party. Not a bad idea, but he could look a little harder for a leader.

More to follow sometime this weekend.

  1. I nominate you and "Orville" ,KCC, as "Wright" for the job. (I've wanted to say that for a lonnnnnnnnng time. Sorry. I feel a lot better now, though.)

Seriously, why not a party/movement/revolution? I'm going to have to vote for someone in the Fall. Why not people like you two? You love Jesus and His Church. You follow all of the Church's teaching rather than just the convenient ones. You both can communicate. Your blogs prove that.

  2. cranky, I think you're off base in a lot of ways. First, neither of us is "wright" for the job. Second, I would not presume to claim that I'm faithful to "all" Christ's teachings. I'm a sinner, perhaps not the worst, but certainly not the best. Don't you wanna accuse me of scandal or calumny at times? I can't spel, much less communikate, and my blog proves nothing except my utter ineptitude for public life.

  3. I agree you are imperfect in the sense of not being flawless, but God uses whomever makes themselves available. God's Grace is what makes us complete.

Whatever additional role(s) you and "Orvile" take on, the role you play now is a basic one for change to occur: the people must be made aware.

You and Kansas City Catholic are opening my eyes and showing me being Cranky is a good thing when I keep my focus sharp on what I should be Cranky about.

Whatever else you do, thanks for that.

  4. Reading Mr. Culbreath, I couldn't help but notice he said you have "some good political experience"....? Does that mean you were/are active politically, or something? or is that prying?

Anyway, where I'm typing from, there's nowhere an orthodox Catholic can safely put his vote. Ah for the halcyon days of the 20's and 30's, when millions of Catholics in Europe gave their support to parties inspired by Catholicism, hostile to both liberal democracy and totalitarian fascism...
